recann wanted a space that would speak to visitors and potential clients in a clear voice while offering a comfortable and positive working environment. the clients coming through the doors of a traditional recruitment company are often under stress. recann wanted to create a shift from tradition and offer an elevated identity with this key message of comfort and happiness at the core.

every workspace we design starts with a narrative.

recann have a combined policy of standards which include honesty, personality, teamwork and passion and their valued consultants work under a shared commission structure, meaning that the whole team benefits when they deliver on client requirements. we wanted to give them an interior which could be versatile to modern working styles and give them options to break away from the desk for work, celebration and play.

office spaces often run the risk of becoming a sea of furniture which can easily become cluttered. we have added clever storage solutions and a layer of connectivity giving each user personal control of their led task lighting and an air charge unit. the result is a sophisticated workplace with comforting tones and elements of play.

an early design decision we made was to create uniformity by using a restricted pallet throughout. this minimal pallet would then act as a simple backdrop for recanns day to day business. the mature tonal greens, greige and taupe helped to mute the space which has created a reassuring interior that has been calculated to evoke comfort and wellbeing to be enjoyed throughout all hours of the day.

at the forefront of the design is their brand identity – we have subtly used this to compliment the interiors through bespoke window manifestations and branding to a ping-pong table which also doubles as a lunch or meeting destination. in juxtaposition to the projects subtlety, we have then shouted “recann” with a neon which adds a comforting glow over the whole project.
